Talstone Group Hits Hard-to-Reach Target with Innovative Strategy
NotifyMD provides call management solutions for healthcare providers across the United States. They came to Talstone Group with a tough assignment. How could they make the CEO or administrator of a multi-specialty practice aware of their call management services? They needed to specifically target practices that had an excess of $20 million in revenues, with more than 100 employees.
The challenge
The target audience was swamped by direct mail efforts every day and often had a handler who sorted the mail for him/her. How could they break through the rest of the marketing “noise” surrounding the target audience to not only get their attention but also get them to respond?
The solution
Talstone Group created a four-part direct mail campaign. The pieces were over-sized postcards with a twist – each card had a large, brushed metal puzzle piece attached to it. Dropping every two weeks, each card posed a question to the target dealing specifically with problems they encountered in managing a large practice. The copy for each card encouraged the target to look forward to the next mailing to receive the next piece. By the fourth drop, the puzzle pieces fit together to create a uniform shape.
The result
The campaign paid for itself by the first drop. Prospects called asking when their next puzzle piece would arrive. Those who purchased NotifyMD’s solutions before the final piece dropped wanted assurance that they would receive their next puzzle pieces.
The campaign was so successful it was expanded to trade show collateral, advertisements, and other marketing efforts. Now, NotifyMD stands out from the rest of the healthcare technology industries with an easily recognizable campaign. They’ve positioned themselves as a solution to busy practice manager’s problems.
